Hello, I'm Isabel
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Barcelona, Spain.
A few years ago, I relocated here with my family. What started as a temporary contract slowly turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't in the plan for the long haul. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The opening months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and higher expectations. Everyday chores felt messier than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock and uncertainty, along with plenty of on-the-job learning. Gradually, routines began to take shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and started to build something that felt steady.
Why I Built Quill Terra Wander
Most online resources offered either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap—practical advice grounded in real life in Spain.
What This Site Represents (And What It Doesn't)
This site is:
- Real-world experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is not:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our time in Spain continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Barcelona or anywhere in Spain, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Isabel
